Answering Related FAQ's

What is the best time to Login on Chegg Q&A board

On Chegg Q&A Board, students post most of their questions between 11.30PM and 8AM everyday. Therefore, to answer more questions or from your favorite topics, we recommend that you login during this time so that you can maximize your earnings.

Please Note: You can always skip a question and move on to the next one if you think you cannot provide a correct answer. To do this, click on SKIP & GET NEXT QUESTION and select “Do not have the Subject Knowledge to Answer” in the pop-up window. Remember, learning is a never ending process. So keep brushing up your knowledge by revising the topics you previously skipped.

What do you mean by Trail period?

When you join Chegg, you are placed in Trial Period during which your answers are closely monitored by our in house quality team. During this time, you will frequently receive quality reviews from Chegg. Generally, an expert remains in the trail period until he/she receives 3-4 Quality reviews.

There’s no need to worry, you will still be paid for all the valid responses submitted during the trial period. Please make sure that all your answers are correct and have step by step detailed explanation.

Note: During your trial period, you can only submit 10 answers in one day!

Why I am able to solve a limited question in a day?

On Chegg Q&A Board, your daily answering limit now is decided based on your everyday performance.

To answer more questions, you should always maintain a CF score of 80% and answer more questions every day.

How to skip a question?

Please take a moment to go through a short tutorial on How To Skip Questions on the Q&A Board and under which category.

On Chegg Q&A Board, you get ten minutes to read a question and if you are not sure about how to answer the question, you can skip it with a valid reason.

You can skip the question under four categories-

  • “It doesn’t belong to this subject”- For e.g.: Genetics is not an Electrical Engineering topic,

  • “I need more information “- you must specify what information (any value/symbol) is needed to answer that question,

  • “This is Abusive or Spam” -if question has external Links, References etc and

  • “I don’t have the subject knowledge”- if you think the question is too difficult for you to answer or the question is out of the scope of your subject knowledge.

Note: After ten minutes, if you do not skip the question, question will be automatically skipped.

Always make sure to skip the questions with a valid reason.

We don’t penalize any expert to skip questions but as an expert we expect you to solve as many questions as possible, it is recommended that you note down the topics of the questions you skip and later try to learn those topics to expand your subject knowledge and hence earnings.

Will my account get revoked if i skip more questions?

Skipping more questions with valid reason will not lead to revocation of your account or decrease in CF score but it will limit your earnings as you will only be answering questions from limited pool of questions.

Questions are difficult to solve, what should i do?

You can always skip a question and move on to the next one if you think the question is too difficult for you to answer or the question is out of the scope of your subject knowledge. To do this, click on SKIP & GET NEXT QUESTION and select “I don’t have the subject knowledge” in the pop-up window.

Quality of the answer is of utmost importance for Students’ learning experience, therefore if in the middle of writing the answer you feel that you are not too confident about the answer, you can skip it by choosing the option, “Do not have the subject knowledge to answer’’ but do not submit an incorrect/incomplete answer which would affect your CF score.

Whats is the difference between 'Skip' and 'Exit button'?

On clicking on “Skip and Get Next question” button, you will be redirected to the next question and if you click on the “Exit” button you will be  redirected to the “Start Answering page”.

When you decide that you do not want to answer questions at the moment, always use the exit button.

Note: If you chose the exit button, the skip will be counted as you have already seen the question and chose to exit anyway.

What are abusive questions? Question is containing external link, can I answer it?

Abusive questions are the ones which violates Chegg Study Honor Code.Questions containing external link are considered as Abusive questions and are in violation of Chegg Study Honor Code.

Such questions should NEVER be answered and should always be skipped as ABUSIVE/SPAM.

Please note:

– ‘Exam’ or ‘Examinations’

Also, if you come across any question which contains threat, violence or harassment messages, please skip them as SPAM/ABUSIVE.

Chegg reserves the right to NOT PAY for answers that violate Chegg Study Honor Code.

Can I give external link if asked in the question for reference?

Do not provide any external link in the answer as it will be in violation of Chegg Study Honor Code.

However if you think that question can be answered without providing any external link, then please feel free to answer such questions else if the question cannot be answered without providing the link, then you can skip the question as abusive.

I skipped one question into 'Abusive/Spam Category' by mistake, what should I do? Will my account be revoked?
